2026 Old Dominion University Depth Chart

Old Dominion faces a significant reset at the most important position after Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year Colton Joseph transferred to Wisconsin. Joseph was electric in 2025, throwing for 2,624 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 1,007 yards and 13 scores – the kind of dual-threat production that’s nearly impossible to replace. The baton passes to redshirt freshman Quinn Henicle, who made an impressive statement in the Cure Bowl by rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns en route to game MVP honors in a win over South Florida. Henicle showed flashes of the same dual-threat ability, making him a fascinating dynasty stash, but the massive shoes he’s filling create real regression risk for the offense.

The running back room also took a hit with Trequan Jones transferring to Maryland. Aaron Young, a Rutgers transfer who led the team with 887 rushing yards in 2025, may or may not return, leaving the backfield depth chart in flux. The Monarchs will likely need portal additions or a breakout from a younger player to maintain the productive ground game that complemented Joseph’s scrambling ability last season. This is a position group to reassess once the full 2026 roster crystallizes.

Old Dominion rode the Joseph-led offense to a 9-3 regular season and a bowl victory, so the infrastructure under head coach Ricky Rahne is solid. The receiver room retains some talent, and Henicle’s mobility could keep the offense functional. However, the ceiling drops significantly without Joseph, and fantasy managers should treat Henicle as a speculative add rather than a reliable starter until he proves he can sustain production over a full season. ODU is a classic buy-low candidate if Henicle shows out in early games.
