MOCK DRAFT MACHINE
12-team snake drafts with 12 unique CPU personas. Sharpen your board against the deepest projection model in college fantasy — powered by the same rankings we use on cfbdynasty.com.
The Mock Draft Machine puts you in a live 12-team snake with CPU opponents who each draft in a distinct style. Practice your strategy from any pick position, learn positional runs, and build a feel for where value falls in every round — with our VBD-adjusted 2026 projections driving the entire board.
Meet Your Opponents
Every draft randomly assigns personas to your 11 CPUs — no two drafts feel the same.

How the Mock Draft Machine Works
A CFBDynasty mock draft is the fastest way to test your college fantasy football draft strategy before your league's real draft. Here's the flow:
Pick your slot
Choose any of the 12 draft positions in a snake format. Each slot shows you which pick numbers you'll be on the clock for in the first four rounds so you can plan positional strategy.
Draft against 11 personas
Every CPU opponent is randomly assigned a different drafting style — Zero-RB Guru, Hero RB, Elite TE Chaser, Youth Movement, and more. No two drafts feel the same, which stress-tests every angle of your approach.
Get graded + fed into ADP
Post-draft team grade (A+ through F) based on total VBD versus the field of 12. Every completed draft feeds our public ADP tracker — the market signal you can't find anywhere else in CFF.
College Fantasy Football Draft Strategy Tips
Wait on QB (but not too long)
Elite CFF quarterbacks like Arch Manning and Bryce Underwood score massively, but the drop-off between QB6 and QB12 is smaller than you'd think in a 12-team single-QB league. If you can grab a top-8 QB in rounds 4-6 while stacking RBs and WRs early, you win the value war.
Prioritize schedule strength for RBs
Running back is the most matchup-sensitive position in college fantasy. A RB1 at a program facing weak run defenses (SEC vs. G5 opponents) will smash their projection; the same RB at a program facing SEC/Big Ten defenses every week will disappoint. Use our SOS-adjusted rankings to identify RBs with favorable schedules.
The TE cliff is real
Elite college TEs (top 3-5) are scheme-dependent unicorns. If you don't grab one in rounds 3-5, you're likely streaming the position all year. Know your league's format — full-PPR TE-premium leagues make the cliff even steeper.
Don't reach for kickers or DSTs
Take a kicker in the last round. Take your DST in the second-to-last round. Anything earlier is leaving points on the board — our persona model reflects this. The only exception: the "Kicker in Round 6 Guy" is a comedy bit, don't copy him.
Mock Draft FAQ
What is a college fantasy football mock draft?
A mock draft is a full simulated snake draft where you pick players against computer opponents. Practice your board, test different draft slots, and learn positional runs before your real league draft.
How is this different from other mock draft tools?
Two things. First, our CPU opponents each draft with a distinct personality — not just "best player available" — so you experience realistic pressure like a live league. Second, every completed draft feeds our public ADP tracker, so you see real market data specific to college fantasy (not NFL).
Is the mock draft simulator free?
Access requires a CFBDynasty membership. Your subscription includes the mock draft simulator plus preseason rankings, dynasty and weekly rankings, the Luck Monkey Start/Sit tool, cheat sheets, and every other tool on the site.
What scoring formats are supported?
Currently PPR (default). Half-PPR, Standard, 6pt-passing-TD, and Sleeper Default formats are on the roadmap — vote in the community for which format to ship next.
How accurate are the projections?
The projection model runs three layers: a 3-year coach baseline for each position slot, a returning-production blend, and an opponent-adjusted strength-of-schedule layer. It's the same model that powers our 2026 preseason rankings.
How do the CPU personas actually work?
Each persona has a set of position weights and round biases layered on top of the projection model's VBD score. A Zero-RB Guru will fade RBs in rounds 1-4 and hammer WRs; an Elite TE Chaser will reach for TE1 in round 2. Random assignment means you'll face a different mix every draft.
