Trey Kukuk enters 2026 as the unquestioned QB1 after one of the more improbable ascents in C-USA history. Starting the 2025 season as QB3, Kukuk took over mid-season after injuries ended the years of Blake Baker (knee) and Evan Bullock (undisclosed), then rewarded the team’s faith by running wild down the stretch — 172 rushing yards and 3 TDs vs. Missouri State, 143 yards and 2 TDs vs. Liberty in the bowl win. His 2026 senior campaign will see him lean on that dual-threat profile again; don’t project him as a traditional passing asset, but his weekly rushing floor is legitimate. The RB room sees Clay Thevenin assume the true RB1 role following Omiri Wiggins’ portal departure — Wiggins had rushed for 468 yards and 4 TDs on 4.8 YPC in 2025 and is now gone. Thevenin flashed well in a complementary role and projects as the lead back in a run-heavy scheme transitioning to the Sun Belt. Andrew Burnette was a volume monster late in 2025 (93 yards/3 TDs vs. Liberty; 132 yards/2 TDs vs. Missouri State) but as an RS-Sr. serves as a co-carrier rather than a ceiling asset. Marlion Jackson leads the WR group — he posted 20 catches, 370 yards, and 2 TDs in 2025 — but the most compelling dynasty target in the pass game is TE Eli Finley, who led the team in targets (46) and receptions (37), an outsized share in a run-first system, entering his junior season with full starting rein.
From a CFBDynasty standpoint, Louisiana Tech’s fantasy outlook is limited but intelligible: Kukuk is a viable QB2 in superflex formats with real rushing upside; Thevenin is the key RB1 to own heading into a softer Sun Belt schedule; Finley is arguably the team’s best dynasty hold at the positional level.
